
Dr. Dillard is Board Certified in Family Medicine, with 23 years of experience in emergency medicine. His experiences also include wound care, wilderness medicine, prehospital medical care, tactical medicine, and interests in alternative medicine.
Raised in Denver Colorado, he received his undergraduate degree at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee Oklahoma, and his medical degree from the Oklahoma University College of Medicine – Tulsa. He completed his residency at Wesley Family Medicine in Wichita, Kansas and spent the first 14 years of his career as an ER physician at Wesley Medical Center. In 2013 Dr. Dillard moved his practice to Newton Medical Center in order to serve the community he lives in.
Dr. Dillard treats patients from infants to elders for a variety of ailments, injuries, and chronic conditions. He has a particular interest and specialty in acute care medicine and office procedures. He strongly believes in the Shared Decision Making (SDM) model, defined as an approach where clinicians and patients share the best available evidence when faced with the task of making decisions and where patients are supported to consider options, to achieve informed preferences. This respects patient autonomy with the understanding that the physician-patient relationship is most effective by emphasizing communication, and a practice that maintains the integrity and flexibility of Direct Primary Care.
Dr. Dillard is married with 2 adult children and helps his wife manage the functioning 1880s Homestead where they live and enjoy raising goats, chickens, turkeys, peafowl, and 4 large Anatolian Shepherds. He is a dedicated Christian and is deeply involved with his wife in multiple ministries. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys the benefits of simple living.
