A well-man exam is the annual men's physical. Your family physician reviews your history, examines you, and plans the screenings that fit your age and risk.
At our Andover clinic, the exam comes with your monthly Direct Primary Care membership. There is no copay and no insurance bill for the visit.
We see men from Andover, east Wichita, Derby, Rose Hill, Augusta, and the rest of Butler County.
The visit starts with your health history, family history, tobacco, alcohol, diet, exercise, and the medicines you take.
The hands-on exam includes blood pressure and BMI. Default visits are booked in 30-minute blocks, which leaves time to talk through the year ahead.
When labs are indicated, the usual panel looks at cholesterol, blood sugar, liver and kidney function, thyroid, etc. Results come back to the same physician who examined you.
Prostate health is part of the conversation. A PSA blood test can be drawn with the annual panel when you and your physician decide it belongs this year.
The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends that men ages 55 to 69 decide individually about PSA screening. It recommends against routine PSA screening at age 70 and older
Colon-cancer screening is coordinated when age or family history calls for it. Imaging and colonoscopy happen later, not during this appointment.
DOT physicals and school or sports physicals are separate listed exams. Ask for those by name if that is what you need.
Ongoing men's primary care after the physical stays with the same Andover physicians through family medicine membership.
You and your physician walk through your medical history, family history, medications, and current concerns. That conversation sets which screenings make sense this year.

The American Academy of Family Physicians adult well-male examination is the clinical frame for the visit. Prostate decisions follow the USPSTF prostate-cancer screening recommendation.
Integrity Medicine Andover is a Direct Primary Care practice. New patients start with a free meet-and-greet. Members then book the well-man exam with their physician.
Members do not pay a separate fee for the well-man exam. Adult Direct Primary Care membership is the price of the visit plus the rest of the month of primary care.

Lab work is billed at member cash prices.
A complete blood count is about $3, compared with about $65 at typical retail. The comprehensive annual panel (metabolic, lipids, thyroid, and PSA when drawn) is about $25 to $26, compared with about $250 retail.
Urgent-care and marketplace figures are published third-party ranges, not Integrity Medicine fees. Over 85 percent of Integrity Medicine patients still carry insurance. They use it for hospital care, imaging, and specialists.
We do not bill insurance for the well-man visit.
