Something is stuck in an ear, a nose, or under the skin? Our Andover clinic can take it out in the office.
Board-certified Family Medicine physicians remove beads, cotton-swab tips, small toys, and splinters at 338 S. Andover Road, Suite 200. Members get same-day or next-day visits. The visit is included in Direct Primary Care membership.

Wood splinters and other objects in the skin. Not hardware next to bone.
Simple office eye objects for members. Deep, chemical, or embedded eye work belongs at an eye clinic.
Most visible ear and nose objects can come out in primary care when the person can stay still. See the AAFP article on foreign bodies in the ear, nose, and throat.

Do not dig. Do not push it deeper with tweezers.
Do not pour peroxide, oil, or water into an ear unless a physician tells you to. The Mayo Clinic first-aid page on a foreign object in the ear says the same thing.
Stop home attempts if there is severe pain, bleeding from the ear, or sudden hearing loss. Come in so we can look.
Breathing trouble, a swallowed battery or magnet, or an object nobody can see is not an Andover office visit.

Kids put beads, eraser heads, food, and small toys in ears and noses. Splinters show up after the yard, the playground, or the garage.
If the child will not let you look, stop probing at home. Bring them in. A physician can examine the ear or nose without turning it into a fight in the bathroom.
